HMRI offers Core Research Services in support of others in our research community. Our shared resources can help advance the work of external partners who require additional laboratory space or imaging equipment. Our state-of-the-art lab and MR technology will enhance and expand the capabilities of any research project, and our core directors and lab personnel can provide technical expertise, consultation and training in the use of specialized equipment and research processes—all to augment your own scientific agenda. Imaging Services
HMRI opened the first clinical magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy laboratories in the western United States and has been one of the premier centers for MR research over the last three decades. Our research has provided critical insight into liver disease, chemical and metabolic changes of neurodegenerative diseases, mechanisms and growth factors of cancer, and cardiovascular diseases. We have provided advanced MR training for physicians, scientists and technologists from all over the world, and we co-sponsor postdoctoral fellowships with the California Institute of Technology through the Boswell Fellowship in a collaborative effort to develop technologies that will improve medical care and treatment. In July 2017, we installed a state-of-the-art 3 Tesla MR scanner that allows for better resolution, faster imaging times and specialized multi-nuclear imaging and spectroscopy.
